a reference to a tank (designated as the "M22" by the military), introduced in 1943 by the United States and used during World War II (1939–1945). Known as the "Locust" by the British, it weighed 8.5 tons and had a top speed of 40 miles (64.3 km) per hour. It was operated by a crew of three and was armed with a gun that fired projectiles 37 millimeters (1.46 in) in diameter, as well as a machine gun.
