(1214? - 1294) English philosopher and man of science. He was deeply interested in alchemy and wrote upon alchemical subjects as well a s various other aspects of the experimental study of nature. In modern times h e has been considered of particular interest because of his interest in natural science, in experiments and in observation of phenomena.
