FAIRWAY

FAIRWAY
ScnMaster
on a golf course, the mowed part between the tee (the starting point) and the green (the area of closely cropped grass surrounding the hole) to which the golfer hits the ball. The fairway is the optimum place for the golfer to hit the ball, rather than into bushes, ponds or trees which may be on either side of the fairway. —Increasing Efficiency Glossary.
