GAMMA RAYS

GAMMA RAYS
ScnMaster
radiations which are similar to X-rays, but with a shorter wavelength than X-rays. Because of their short wavelength, gamma rays are very penetrating. They have a range in air of about 1 1/2 miles and are the principal cause of radiation disease in atomic warfare. —All About Radiation Glossary. Final approval 27.9.89
