England on the 5th of November each year commemorating the arrest of Guy Fawkes (1570–1606), an
English conspirator who, on the 5th of November 1605, took part in a
plot to
blow up the British Houses of
Parliament to kill
King James I. The
day is celebrated with fireworks and bonfires
burning his effigy.
