HAMILTON, ALEXANDER (5)

(1755 - 1804) a soldier and political leader of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries; a founding father (one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence) of the United States. Hamilton advised George Washington (first president of the US) in the Revolutionary War and was a leader in the drafting of the Constitution.
