Sir Walter Scott (1771–1832). The book, published in 1819, is about a Saxon
knight, Ivanhoe, who is in
love with his father's
ward, Rowena, although she is supposed to marry another
man. The story is further emblazoned with a colorful entourage of honorable knights and fair ladies.
