JOHNSON'S POVERTY PROGRAMS

a reference to the actions of Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973), thirty-sixth president of the United States (1963–1969) and member of the Democratic Party. During his presidency he started several domestic programs, including one known as the War on Poverty.
