Pablo
Picasso (1881–1973), Spanish painter and sculptor of the twentieth century; the most famous and influential of all modern artists. He
co-founded a
type of
art called Cubism which sought to illustrate the
concept that everything in
nature can be reduced to the
cube, the cone and the cylinder. Later works in this
style entirely did away with any
trace of
realism in
painting and sculpture.
