English nobleman, abandoned in Africa in his infancy. He was brought up by apes,
learned to speak their
language and went through a long
series of breathless adventures. Millions of copies of the Tarzan books have been sold,
innumerable films have been made of his adventures and he has long been a comic-strip favorite.
