a story by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875 - 1950) which first appeared in 1914. It featured Tarzan who was the son of a n English nobleman, abandoned in Africa in his infancy. He was brought up by apes, learned to speak their language and went through a long series of breathless adventures.
