a control lever on the E-Meter. The tone arm registers density of mass in the mind of the preclear. This is actual mass, not imaginary, and can be weighed, measured by resistance, etc. Therefore, the tone arm registers the state of the case at any given time in processing. The tone arm also measures advance of the case during processing by moving. See also case; E-Meter; mental mass.
