short for Case V: a heavily occluded case (one whose memories are usually largely hidden or made unavailable to conscious recall) characterized by mental pictures consisting of masses of blackness. At the time of this lecture, there was an auditing procedure wherein the auditor tested the preclear at each step of the process to find a step the preclear could do and then began processing at that step.
